Now, what exactly is the Journey to Light?

That’s a very good question I am more than happy to answer!

The Journey to Light is a very exciting project which takes me and my furmily on a super duper hyper… piper (…?) adventure. And heeeeey, by the way, it’s a fundraiser (find out more about that here)!!
We will be walking through
England, Wales and Scotland – starting on the
20th of April 2020 for
as long as our feet will allow us to.

We will have a guitar with us, a tent, a camera, some food, maybe a change of clothes and a whole lot of fun and good times. There is
no exact route, I
don’t know where we will sleep and we’ll have to
figure out how to manage life on the road.

But one thing I know for sure – it will be one hell of an adventure!
We will have to rely on the kindness of strangers. We will have to ask for the way a few times. We will have to ask for a place to sleep at night and maybe for some food.
Is this gonna take me out of my comfort zone? Yes. Is this by far the craziest thing I’ve ever done? Yes! Am I scared of having to pee out in nature? Hell yes! Am I prepared to pee out in nature? Boiogzfmhfsh… Am I anyways excited like a child the night before Christmas? Yes, queen!

This journey is not designed to be done completely without the help and support of others, it is instead actually designed to be a community project, to bring us all a bit closer together.

And of course I will be blogging and vlogging along the way here and on my YouTube channel. So you won’t miss out on all the fun, the craziness (ohohooo you better be prepared…), the struggles, the beautiful landscapes, the successes and the milestones reached.

Plus there are many chances for you to get involved and join the journey! There are gonna be live busking sessions in many places, challenges to be won, as well as meet ups and collaboration opportunities. You can even get your hiking boots out and tag along for a bit! How awesome!!
Sounds like fun? Check out my website and especially the section “Join the Joyride” for more info on how exactly you can get involved. You can also just leave a comment or drop me a message and I’ll get back to you asap!

Below you find a video showing the approximate JTL route. Since this is designed to be a community project, anyone is welcome to share their opinion, tipps and advice. The route is not final yet and probably never will be – until we’ve reached our final destination that is of course (duh!). I’m happy to receive loads of recommendations on where to go, what to see and what to do. So feel free to get in touch and share your experience!
